Bowling Fundraiser

We had a great turnout and a lot of fun at our Annual Bowling Tournament Fundraiser that took place on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Fred’s of Roscommon. There were 8 full teams that participated and the 40 bowlers rolled three

games to determine these winning teams:

First Place Team “Coors Lights” won $500 – Carmine Polisei, Bill Patterson, Dave Hoover, Adam Wargo and Dom.

Second Place Team “Livin’ on a Spare” won $250 – Kevin Ragen, Ben Simons, Alyssa Simons, Ryan Randall and Lindsey Randall.

Third Place Team “Troup” won $100 – Debbie Cummins, Sue Cummins, Sherry Shipley, Nanette Howard and Cathy Tesner.

Our 50/50 Raffle pot totaled $650 and $325 went to the winner Mary Beebe who donated $50 back to each of the two waitresses and the remaining $225 was donated back to ACT NOW…thank you Mary for your generosity!

Thanks to all of the support of the participants, volunteers, donors, sponsors and Fred’s we were able to raise over $3,500 for this event! All proceeds will support ACT NOW and the Gerrish Twp. Police Department’s annual community programs and projects.

APRIL 23, 2022

THANK YOU to all of the participants, lane sponsors, prize donors, volunteers and the staff at Fred’s for making our Bowling Tournament a HUGE SUCCESS!! We raised approximately $2,500 to help support all of the local community programs and projects sponsored by ACT NOW and the Gerrish Twp. Police Department.

TEAM WINNERS:

1st Place Team “Hose Before Bros” bowlers were Team Captain Jim Fisher, Jake Figley, Mike Bentley, Jason Budzinski and Michael Stempien. This team had the overall combined three-game pin total and won $500 in cash. They were generous and donated $250 back to ACT NOW. Thank you bowlers from the Gerrish Township Fire/EMS Department!!

2nd Place Team “Living on a Spare” consisted of Team Captain Kevin Ragen, Ryan Randell, Mark Bess, Alyssa Simons and Ben Simons. They won $250 cash prize.

3rd Place Team “Pocket Pounders” have supported ACT NOW Bowling Tournaments for several years and the bowlers on this team were Captain Adam Wargo, Bob Wargo, Lennie Wargo, Chuck Kuhn and Scott Hansen. They took home the $100 cash prize.

OTHER WINNERS:

The winner of the 50/50 Raffle was Roscommon County Prosecuting Attorney Mary Beebe who won $305.50 and donated her entire share back to ACT NOW making the entire pot worth $611.00. THANK YOU Mary for your support and your generous donation!

The Strike Ball Game was won by Michelle Bechtel who won $128.00 for rolling a strike on the spot! Michelle was part of the “Beebe’s Warriors” team. Congratulations Michelle!

Our large “Stay & Play” Golf Package prize worth $1,000 went to Mark Bess who was part of the “Livin on a Spare” team. Mark won a 2-night, 4-rounds of golf package for two adults at Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire. Congratulations Mark and THANK YOU to Blarney Stone Broadcasting/WQON out of Grayling for this awesome prize donation!

JANUARY 19, 2019 ACT NOW BOWLING TOURNAMENT

Thank you to all of the bowlers, sponsors, donors, volunteers and Fred’s of Roscommon for making our Bowling Tournament last Saturday a huge success.  We raised over $3400 and will be splitting the proceeds with the RHS Boys Basketball Program.

2nd Place – Jeff Jones, Chris Francisco, Ray Stern, Adam Wargo, Bob Wargo ($250 Cash Prize)

Jeff Jones was the winner of the Strike Ball Raffle and won $208.00, Jamie Purtell was the winner of the new Bowling Ball Raffle, Brian Noeske won the Sam Adams Neon Sign, Shannon Fick won the $100 Silver Dollar Gift Card and Greg Patchin won the RAPS Sports Family Pass.

 

FEBRUARY 10, 2018 ACT NOW BOWLING TOURNAMENT

Come out and join the fun!  All proceeds from this Bowling Tournament Fundraiser will help support ACT NOW annual community programs and projects.  ACT NOW is a non-profit organization that works in coordination with the Gerrish Township Police Department.

MAY 5, 2017 ACT NOW BOWLING TOURNAMENT

Thank you to all of the bowlers, volunteers, Alpena Beverage Company, ACT NOW Community Partners Blarney Stone Broadcasting and Fred’s of Roscommon for making the ACT NOW Bowling Tournament that was held this past Saturday, May 6th a GREAT SUCCESS!!  ACT NOW raised $1,658.00 to go towards its annual community programs and projects that are sponsored by their non-profit organization.  First Place Team won $500, Second Place Team won $250 and the Third Place Team won $150.  Eight teams filled the lanes and fun was had by all.  You did not have to be present to win any of the great prizes that were given away.  50/50 raffle winner was Greg Patchin who took home $392.  Twisted Tea Neon Sign ($250 value) was won by Billy Patterson who had to roll a trick shot of hitting just one pin to win.  Grand prize Shanty Creek Golf Package ($1,200 value) including 8 rounds of golf, two rooms for one night went to Pat Benardo.  A HUGE THANK YOU to Blarney Stone Broadcasting for donating the Golf Package, Alpena Beverage Company for donating the Twisted Tea neon sign and beverages and to Fred’s of Roscommon for donating all lane and shoe rental fees!!  ACT NOW is looking forward to another bowling fundraiser this fall which all proceeds will benefit the ACT NOW Scholarship Program…watch for future information!!

 

 

On May 14, 2016 ACT NOW held its 1st Annual BOWLING FUNDRAISER at Fred’s in Roscommon and raised $762.00 to support local community programs and projects that are sponsored by ACT NOW and the Gerrish Township Police Department.
