Gerrish Police Officers & EMS Receive Life Saving Awards

At the regular Gerrish Township Board Meeting on June 12th, Sgt. Norm LaBonte, Officer Shannon Fick along with seven members of the Gerrish Fire/EMS Department and 911 Senior Dispatcher Marie Thompson were presented with Life Saving Awards for their quick response and live saving efforts from a medical incident that occurred on April 16, 2018.

Gerrish EMS Life Saving Awards were presented by Fire/EMS Chief Jim Lippert and EMS Captain Donna Brown to the crew that day which were Kathleen Pardo (Paramedic) and Julie Hill (EMT) along with other first responders including Paramedic/2nd Lt. Kristi Gilliam, EMT Matt Laubach, EMT Mike Bentley, EMT/2nd Lt. Brandon Rodgers and Chief Jim Lippert.  Unable to attend the presentation but will also receive the Life Saving Award were Fire Captain Jim Fisher, FF Craig Kelly and FF Josh Buck.

Special awards were given to the survivor and his wife for her immediate response and initiating CPR compressions with the guidance of 911 Dispatcher Marie Thompson.
