Special Smoke Detectors for Hard of Hearing & Deaf Installed

Thank you to Officer Eric Muszysnki of the Gerrish Police Department and Gerrish Fire Department members Brandon Rodgers, Mike Stempien and Mike Bentley who have been out in the community installing FREE specialized smoke detection units for the Hard of Hearing and Deaf.

These units are available for anyone in need free of charge through Grayson’s Gift program, a non-profit organization that is working on improving the quality of life for the deaf and hard of hearing community and bringing knowledge of the silent world to the hearing.

If you are interested in receiving one of these free specialized units that work off of traditional smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms by shaking a bed and activating a strobe light, please contact a Gerrish Police Officer or call the Gerrish Twp. Fire Department at (989) 821-9313 Ext. 240.
