Welcome New CERT Members

Yesterday, five community members completed their 20-Hour Basic CERT training with a final written test and practical hands-on skills testing. We would like to thank them and welcome them to our Gerrish Township Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Gerrish Township now has 19 CERT members that are trained in Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Medical Operations, Fire Safety, Terrorism, Disaster Psychology, Light Search & Rescue, Radio Communications and Traffic Control. CERT members are called out to assist public safety agencies during natural disasters, deliberate attacks, search and rescues, crowd control, traffic/pedestrian safety and emergency preparedness community events.
