Protect Yourselves from On Line Fraud
- Be suspicious of any e-mail or pop-up message asking for personal financial information. Legitimate companies do not ask for that kind of information.
- Check your financial statements as soon as you receive them or check your bank activity electronically every few days.
- Use Antivirus software and a firewall and keep them updated regularly.
- Watch for fake websites that are “phishing” (attempting to take hold of your personal information by tricking you or masquerading as a legit company. These sites look legit, however, they use peculiar wording, misspell words, have bad grammar, and request credit card numbers.
