Due to the popularity and increase in numbers of Recreational Drone Operators, Gerrish Township Police Department would like to make sure that while everyone is having fun with their UASs (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) that they make sure they follow all the FAA guidelines and State laws for recreational drone use.
The department has compiled information representing the most current regulations under the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Act of 2016 and State of Michigan Act No. 12 of 2015.
