National “Stop on Red Week” takes place the first week in August every year and is a campaign aiming at raising awareness of drivers running red lights, which is a dangerous form of reckless driving.
Red light violations occur everywhere and are more frequent during times of high traffic and are a common occurrence in rural areas as people become lax about intersection awareness due to lower traffic volume.
PLEASE STOP AT RED LIGHTS AND AT ALL STOP SIGNS…IT IS THE LAW AND SAVES LIVES!
